The East Midlands Team in Natural England are currently expanding and are looking to recruit lead advisers into Nature Recovery and Greener Farming roles, for areas of work including Agri-Environment, Farmland Conservation, Uplands and Protected Sites.

Contract type: Permanent

Salary: £26,224

Location: Hybrid working attached to an office in Lincoln or Nottingham.

The East Midlands area team covers the counties of Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland. Our area includes the iconic landscape of the Peak District, an extensive coastline, the rolling chalk hills of the Lincolnshire Wolds, a large part of the National Forest, Sherwood Forest and the Rutland water reservoir and nature reserve.

We are looking for motivated individuals who will enjoy working with farmers, landowners, land managers and organisations in partnerships, with an aim to safeguard, restore and enhance the natural environment by providing technical advice on agri-environment schemes (Countryside Stewardship and Higher-Level Stewardship extensions) and the management of protected sites, to improve habitat management, across a variety of habitats, from the majestic uplands to the rich habitats of the Lincolnshire coast.

We are seeking individuals with a range of knowledge, skills and experience covering for example: agricultural practices, lowland and upland land management, applied ecology and habitat management, and negotiation skills to provide comprehensive technical advice on farmland conversation and protected sites matters.
