A nonprofit organization in Brooklyn is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate ACT Psychiatrist to join their growing staff. In conjunction with the Program Director, the ACT Psychiatrist will maintain overall clinical responsibility for monitoring participant treatment and team member delivery of clinical services.

Responsibilities

The ACT Psychiatrist will:

  • Provide psychiatric and medical assessment and treatment
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and develop holistic service plans addressing the social determinants of health
  • Monitor treatment and provide follow up visits, treatment for co-occurring substance use disorders and respond to crisis situations
  • Provide coordinated care, collaborating with family and other community treatment providers, PNP, nursing staff member, and Program Director
  • Deliver integrated care using best prescribing practices
  • Provide clinical supervision, education, and training of the ACT team members
  • Develop, maintain, and supervise medication administration policies and procedures
  • Document services and changes in medication or treatment plans in AWARDS and consistent with agency and regulatory and licensing entities
  • Work in collaboration with ACT Program Director, assuming leadership in their absence
  • Complete other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
  • Currently licensed as a Physician by the NYS Education Department and certified by, or be eligible to be certified by, the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
  • Eligible for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs
  • Experience in community psychiatry, working with people with serious mental health conditions
  • Knowledgeable in MAT approaches, including screenings, assessments and medication protocols
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
